Nursery

admissions process

The school's Governing Body has sole responsibility for admissions and each year publishes its Admissions Policy which specifies how Governors consider applications for admissions to the nursery. Before you make an application for the admission of your child, you are strongly advised to consider carefully the current Nursery Admissions Policy below. This sets out in detail how Governors manage the admissions process and the order of priority in which applications are considered. You will see that the Nursery Admissions Policy follows a similar oversubscription criteria to the Reception Admissions Policy, with priority given to baptised children from practising families residing in the parishes of St Michael’s and St. David’s.

The Nursery Admissions Policy is separate to all other admissions to the School including Reception.

A place in the nursery will NOT guarantee a place in Reception. A new application will be required for entry into full time Statutory Education at the School and the Oversubscription Criteria will again be applied

There will be up to eight 15 hour places available for Two year old children that qualify for Free Early Education and childcare for Two year olds (FEET) and forty-four 15 hour places available for Three and Four year olds. The 15 hour places will be offered in two options, each option offering a place over two and a half days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday). Meals will be charged for. Parents that are eligible a further 15 hours of child care from September 2017 will be able to request to be considered for a full time place and these may be offered if spaces are available. Further information on 30 hours provision and the eligibility criteria can be found here. The government’s Childcare Choices website will assist you in determining whether your child is eligible for 30 hours childcare provision.

Further details are available in the Nursery Admissions Policy and the appendix.
