Dear Parents, Many of our children celebrated their First Holy Communion last Saturday at Saint Michael’s and more are doing the same at Saint David’s this Saturday and next Saturday. Please keep these children in your prayers as they take this important step on their journey of faith. Thank you to all of the people involved in preparing the children and well done to the children themselves.

The Year 6 pupils completed their SATs tests this week. They have worked incredibly hard to prepare and we are very proud of them, no matter what their results turn out to be. I never fail to be impressed by how confidently they tackle the challenging questions presented to them. Well done Year 6! We always like to reveal the Key Stage 2 production to the Year 6 pupils after their tests have finished and I am happy to announce that, this year, we will be performing Annie! We have staged this show once before, many years ago, to rave reviews so it is up the current pupils to outperform their predecessors!

On Thursday, we joined millions of children around the world to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day. Each class were taught at least one lesson outdoors to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. We also had a special street party lunch on the playground to celebrate the Royal Wedding. The children absolutely loved the experience. Those having a school lunch had a burger and smiley faces with salad and a duo of desserts! A big thank you to the catering team for helping arrange and prepare for the lunch—it was a great success!

With half-term fast approaching, our Summer Fayre will be coming soon so please support the school as best you can. You should have received a parentmail asking if you would be prepared to have an estate agent board outside your property to advertise the Fayre. Frost Estate Agents will donate money to the PTA for each board and they should encourage more local people to attend so it is a ‘win, win’ for the school! If you are able to support with this, please e-mail your name and address to Namika Romany (namikaromanay@yahoo.co.uk). We are also planning to sell Long Life shopping bags with a design of self portraits drawn by the children. These will be a lovely keepsake or gift. Watch this space for more details.

Please don’t forget that school is open all week, INCLUDING THIS FRIDAY, 25th May. If I don’t see you before Friday, I hope you have a lovely half-term break.

Mr Lane
