I hope that you enjoyed visiting the children in their classrooms this afternoon. I know that chil-dren love sharing their work and their achievements with you. I am sure you are feeling very proud of them. Please remember that if you want to discuss your child’s learning further you are always welcome to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher.

The Red House captains led a fantastic assembly earlier in the week, teaching the school about St George, their house’s patron saint. Well done to them! Also, we had a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils attend a cross country race yesterday afternoon. Please see below for their report.

Monsignor Overton visited the school on Monday afternoon to bless the classes Doors of Mercy. He found the children’s work and their responses very moving. Each class has created a beautiful Door of Mercy which display a particular Saint of Mercy, the Parables of Mercy, the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy and Prayers of Mercy. This is in response to Pope Francis’ call for a Door of Mercy in each diocese. As we pass through the doors, we hope that they remind us of God’s love and that we should show compassion to others. We will be taking photographs of the doors so that they can be shared on the school website.

Please don’t forget that we have a three day week next week. Monday is a bank holiday and we are closed for a polling day on Thursday. Have a fantastic long weekend! Mr Lane
