Home Learning

During the school closure, it is very important that the children continue their learning . To support you, we have compiled a home learning pack for each year group, which you can access below.

Click on the link for your child’s year group, which will take you to a One Drive. Each year group has a folder for each week, which will be updated for every school week we are closed. We will aim to have each folder ready for the start of each week and will send you a parentmail to confirm that the new folders are ready. You can access them in the same way, clicking on the weblink below to access the One Drive.

We hope the resources provided and the tasks set are self-explanatory and easy for you to follow so you should not need to contact your child’s class teacher to ask for further help about the work. Please be aware, it will be extremely difficult for staff to be available to respond as they may either be self-isolating themselves at home or be at school, caring for the children that we remain open for.

All of the work can be recorded in this one book. If your child was not at school to receive an excercise book or their CGP books, please use your own resources to record the children’s work, preferably a notebook or exercise book.

All of the children’s work should be kept and returned to their class teacher when we return to school.

Our recommendation is that the children complete some home learning each day: 1 writing, 1 maths and one or two other tasks from the list. We realise, however, you may have to adjust their schedule around your working patterns and child care arrangements. The main thing is that all of the work is completed to the best of your child’s ability by the end of each week. We expect the work to be completed to the same high standard they would do at school. Please reinforce this message at home.

If you finish the pack of work, you are of course free to set additional work for your child if you would like. We will leave this up to you but if you need ideas, please take another look at the Curriculum Newsletter (contained in the folders) to see the topics that are currently being taught. Please remember, it is always essential to review and revise the curriculum previously taught this year. Maths Shed and Spelling Shed games are a fantastic way of practising fluency and recall and we have listed a host of other ideas, websites and resources you may want to explore in your pack.

Thank you for your continuing support and we all wish you and your families the best of health.
